Tarawneh meets Azerbaijani foreign minister

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Saturday met with the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, and discussed bilateral relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a visit to Azerbaijan accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, Tarawneh stressed that the Arab Summit, held in Jordan in March, focused on reviving the importance of the Palestinian issue, the refugee exodus to Jordan, and the issue of equating Islam and terrorism.
He outlined Jordan's position on Palestine, refugees and terrorism, noting the accord between the Jordanian and the Azerbaijani stances in this regard. For his part, Mammadyarov commended Jordan's role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in supporting Azerbaijan.
