AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Tuesday visited a Border Guard unit, and commended the great efforts Border Guards personnel exert in dealing with the challenges at hand.
His Majesty stressed that the coward terrorist act that recently targeted a military post for serving Syrian refugees on the northeastern front will only increase JAF personnel's determination to defend the homeland's security and stability, according to a Royal Court statement.
Seven Jordanian troops were killed and 13 injured when a car bomb struck a forward military post at the no man's land at the borders between Syria and Jordan, the JAF said.
King Abdullah was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff and King’s Military Adviser Gen. Mashal Al Zaben.
The King performed maghreb prayer with the unit personnel and joined them for iftar meal, the statement added.
